Power Pins for unused channels in LMH7324 comparator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH7324

Hello,

I want to use only one channel in a LMH7324 quad comparator. The power supplies will be VCCI = +5V, VCCO=+3V3 and VEE = -5V. Can i leave the power pins of the unused channels floating?

Regards,

Markus

  • Hi Markus,
From an operation point of view, only connect power and ground (VCCI, VCCO, VEE) to the channel you are using, and leave the unused channel pins (input, output, power, ground) unconnected. The unused channels will not draw any current and you do not burn unnecessary power.

From an ESD / protection point of view, you may want to shorten the unused inputs together and then ground these. Functionally, this has no impact as the individual channels are completely independant from each other.

    Regards,
    Hooman
