LM13700: Noise issues

Part Number: LM13700

Hi, I Am using an lM13700 as a voltage controlled amplifier and I need to reduce the noise coming out of the circuit.  I am using the linearizing diodes and limiting the control current to 100uA. My concern is my circuit might be non-optimal. I used an opamp as a current to voltage converter instead of using a resistor to ground and a buffer. Can that cause extra noise? Any ideas about how to reduce the noise would be helpful. Thanks!
