1. What is the drawback of Transformer less coupling in Narrow Band Power Line Communication?

I have calculated the same value of 10kohms for the Rset resistor.  This should case no limitations of drawing the maximum output current of 1.5A.   I do see that the schematic on page 44 of the datasheet shows Rset to be 7.5kohms. 

Could you change the value of your Rset to 7.5kohms and let me know if it makes a difference in output current? 

The transformer is used for Galvanic isolation and for maximum power transfer efficiency to the load. I have attached a link to an application note describing in detail on page 14 the purpose of each component in the coupling circuitry.

That is correct; the transformer limits the maximum current based off the turn ratio.

thanks again, i used a transformer with ration 1:1.3 , does this transformer limit the current 1A for 2 ohm load?
