Hello everyone, it is the first time I deal with negative power supply and I got some questions about it, hope that someone can help me out on this one! I want to use the OPA657 for a wideband Photodiode transimpedance amplifier circuit, as well as the OPA861 as an operational transconductance...

Dear Bruce, thank you for your reply! Yeah, that's an easy thought I hadn't thought of, just connecting another battery in series with the positive one! Can you think of any way doing this with just a single common power supply, such as a 24Vdc adapter? It's easy to regulate several...

Dear Bruce, regarding the L7905 negative voltage regulator, could it be that it doesn't work properly with this setup? I did as you told me, I regulated +5V from the +9V side referenced to Ground (worked fine, of course), and tried to regulate -5V from the -9V side referenced to ground and got...

Dear Bruce, no, I am not - this was the first detail I noticed when I first dealt with the 7905! Any other suggestions of what it could be I'm doing wrong? Kind Regards, David

Dear Deepak, no, I connect the midpoint of the two 9V batteries to the left pin of 7905 (when facing up), GND that is. Then I connect the negative -9V to the 2nd pin, in the middle. The right pin should then output -5V, put it isn't! Anyway, I did it the other way around anyway, never mind...
