Looking for LED to drive +12, R, G, B a V=12,P=20

Using TI E2E for the first time: Looking to design an LED driver using TI component.  Have a SW-F505RGB30-WF0-1.7M-12.  Looking to design my own Power Amplifier to a small package with small chip count and minimum foot print.  Are you able to recommend a TI part based on description?  And want to know if there are noise sensitive suppression is required within design.  Thank you.

  • Hi, Chris,

I'm not very clear about your questions.

Do you want an LED driver to drive 12 RGB LEDs, that is36 channels?

    Is your input voltage 12V?

What is the current you need?

    And what's P=20?

We can help you if you can provide more details.

    Thanks.
    Regards,

  • Hi Ken,

Thank you for the response. I want to design an LED strip using an amplifier that takes LED controller.  The voltages, Vc, Vr, Vg, Vb have small input current.  I want convert that same voltage into a higher current.  Input voltage is 12V.  Looking to generate 2.5A from low current.  What is P?

It seems it is common knowledge to take a optocoupler tied in with a MOSFET to isolate the input voltage and take that same voltage and convert to a amplified current output.

Does TI have a reference design for the amplifier configuration described? Thanks.

    Best,

    Chris

  • Hi, Chris,

If I understand it correctly, you are looking for a LED driver supporting 12 Vin and 2.5A current?
