TINA/Spice/THS4531A: Noise performance in spice models

Part Number: THS4531A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello,

I plan to use THS4531A to build a Fully Differential Transimpedence Amplifier.

To determine the value for stability capacitor in feedback, I have downloaded the spice model for this amplifier.

My question is: Are the noise parameters also present in the spice models ? Can I trust on the Spice noise simulation results done on it ?

regards,

Ashish

  • Hi Ashish,

The macro for the spice model lists what parameters are modeled. For this instance, the following parameters are modeled:
    * Input Offset Voltage, Input Bias Current, Input Bias Current Offset
    * Current Consumption, Frequency Response, Voltage Noise, Current Noise,
    * Slew Rate, Large Signal Bandwidth, CMRR, PSRR, Input Resistance and
    * Cap, Input range, Output Impendance, Output swing, Output current
    * CMFB frequency response, CMFB Slew Rate, CMFB offset, CMFB ib current,
    * CMFB input resistance and capacitance, CMFB input range

As for the accuracy of these models, they are accurate to the datasheet. You can trust the results from these simulations. Of course there will be some discrepancies between real world results and the models however there shouldn't be any significant differences.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks Karan.

    That answers my query.
