Part Number: OPA454
On the front page of the datasheet the device claims:
Wide Temperature Range: –40°C to +85°C
However under recommended operating conditions it shows –55°C to 125°C
can you clarify this discrepancy?
The use of an unspecified range, Specified range and Operating range with regard to temperature as used in the OPA454 datasheet may not be readily clear. The bullet on the first page is simply "Wide Temperature Range: –40°C to +85°C" so it is not really indicating Operating or Specified temperature range.
Ultimately, the specifications that are assured by TI are those listed in the product's Electrical Characteristics table. Down the table under the "Temperature Range" title you will find for the OPA454:
Within the Electrical Characteristics table there are parameters referenced to the Specified range of -40 C to +85 C. Otherwise, the Operating range means simply means that the OPA454 will be functional over that temperature range, but no mentions or assurances are made regarding the actual level of electrical performances once the Specified range is exceeded.
