OPA365: Advices needed for driving a 3.3V ADC with a 1.0V PP input

Part Number: OPA365
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS4551

Hello,

I have an RF tuner with high impedance (2.2K) 1.0V PP (2.0V PP max) output at 700KHz ±100KHz, i need to drive the input of an STM32 12bit ADC. The tuner output is differential, the STM32 ADC input can be set as differential or single end. I also have a 4:1 transformer, which i would rather avoid to use since its expensive, large and space on PCB is sparse. I think the OPA365 could be used to scale the tuner output to the STM32 range (3.3V) and i would like to have suggestion on how to connect it and which values to use assuming the tuner output is set to 1.0V PP output.

Thanks

  • Hello,

Have you considered using a Fully differential amplifier such as the THS4551? This way you can reduce harmonics by keeping the signal differential, and can also adjust the output common mode to match with that of the STM32.
