OPA130: Operating Temperature Clarification

Part Number: OPA130

Hello Guys,

Good day.

One of our customer wants to clarify the operating Temperature Range for OPA130UA because he came across
to what seems a discrepancy on the datasheet.

The packaging information shows -40 to 125 degC while on page 3 at the bottom of the Electrical Characteristics table in the Temperature Range section it says -40 to 85 degC. Kindly clarify the operating temp.

Datasheet:  https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/opa130.pdf

Thanks in advance for the confirmation!

  • Hello Art,

This same kind of question regarding the OPA130UA temperature specifications came in on a direct email inquiry as well. Here is the response Scott Gulas, the PRAMPS Applications manager, provided:

"Follow the main datasheet electrical spec table….  The part is *specified* (performance) to 85C, *operates* (works like an op-amp) to 125C, can be stored to 125C long term, and the junction temp should not exceed 150C or else damage could occur.   Take the drift spec to be 10uV/C from -40 to 85C since the table shows 85C at the bottom of it.  There aren’t other specs over temp so it’s really the only one in question, and assume that between 85C and 125C the drift could be higher."

I hope this answers your question.
