AMC1311: AMC1311 Nonlinearity

Part Number: AMC1311

AMC1311 specified Nonlinearity typical value is +/-0.01% . What is Nonlinearity definition in AMC1311? How to calculate overall tolerance(offset,Gain Error, temp drift, etc)? Should we include nonlinearity parameter?

  • Hi John,

Nonlinearity is the error that is not accounted for by the gain or offset error terms.. If you were to look at the transfer function of an ADC and plot a line of best fit for the input vs output in the form of y=mx+b, the gain error term would be m, while the offset term would be b. Nonlinearity should be accounted for when doing error calculations.

Please see this excel calculator, make sure to select "single-ended" under "configuration" in order to see the AMC1311 under "devices": https://e2e.ti.com/support/amplifiers/f/14/p/815789/3019110#3019110
