Hi, Yaita-san:
Yes, we can control DRV2605 in the EVMCT board with external I2C master.
The MSP430's activities must be triggered by Captouch Button after initialization.
So, if we leave the board untouched and just use the external I2C input, there will be no MSP430 access to DRV2605.
Hi, Yaita-san:
I think the R8 should be removed.
the MSP430P3.1 is configured to output low if the DRV2605 is not working.
So, this pin can possibly drive the line low even if we put an external High voltage to ENIN.
But I haven't tested it.
Yaita-san,
Peter is correct. The MSP430 is trying to drive the EN pin low, so if you try to force it externally, you will damage the MSP430. You will need to remove R8 prior to driving externally.
Hi, Yaita-san:
I have tested this with my USB-to-I2C board and DRV2605EVM-CT.
it works as described.
the Initialization is done when the board is powered up. then we change the mode to MODE0 (only M0 LED is lighting)..
during the initialization, the DRV2605 calibrates both the LRA and ERM.
it's not easy to describe this procedure in short message.
Do you have the MSP430 firmware for DRV2605EVM-CT?
If yes, you can find the "void Haptics_Init(void)" in Haptics.c.
