OPA1632: Smallest possible feedback resistor?

Hello,

I have a current to voltage conversion application that I'm evaluating, the current to voltage stage following a differential current-output DAC.  I need to convert a ~60mA peak to peak signal to ~3.5v peak to peak voltage.  This seems to require a much smaller feedback resistor (60 ohms) than the data sheet recommends - the minimum listed being 348 ohms.  I believe I'm within the safe operating area for the the chip's current and dissipation but I'm wondering if there is any increased risk of instability.

  • Or, are there parameters other than current/dissipation that come into play?

    Hi Brian,

    I think it should be ok to use an Rf of 60 ohms. You should be able to simulate your circuit in TINA-TI (attached below) to check for stability. 

    Below is one schematic that converts a 60mA input differential current into 3.6Vpp output. OPA1632_ItoV.TSC
