Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH6505, LMH6504

Looking at the 6505 data sheet and comparing it to the 6504 I notice the 6504 shows two VGA circuits.  The second (with fewer parts) is not on the 6505 data sheet.  Is this second VGA circuit applicable to the 6505?  Can the 6505 be used with single supply like the 6504?

    Hello Robert,

    Are you referring to Figure 50 in the 6504 datasheet?

    Both amplifiers have similar function, the gain slope is different for the LMH6505, so the loop response of the AGC circuit will be different. You may need to adjust the value of capacitor C1 and possibly the values of R1 and R2.

    Page 14 of the 6505 datasheet tells how to use the part on a single supply.


    What is the reason you want to use the 6505 over the 6504?

    Yes, LMH6505 can be used with single suppl like LMH6504.
