IBIS model file for LMH6554 differential amplifier

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH6401, LMH6554

Hi,

May I know where can I download the IBIS model file for LMH6554 differential amplifier? I see that there is an IBIS model for high speed amplifier such as LMH6401 in the IBIS Models Collection (ti_ibis_models.zip) downloadable from the WEBENCH design center but not for the LMH6554, could you help to create an IBIS model for LMH6554 if it is currently not available? I need the IBIS model for Mentor Graphics Hyperlynx boardsim simulation.

  • Hello Eric,

I don't think the IBIS model file is supported for LMH6554 differential amplifier as the signal path is pure analog. There are no logic levels associated at the signal inputs or outputs, unlike digital interface. The IBIS models exist for LMH6401 because they support the LMH6401 SPI interface only and even they don't support LMH6401 signal inputs or outputs.

If you would like to do timing simulations, I would suggest using an LMH6554 evaluation board to characterize the timing behavior and some-how port that information into Mentor Graphics Hyperlynx boardsim simulation or ADS.

    Best Regards,

    Rohit

  • Hello Eric,

The LMH6554 is an analog amplifier, so we did not make an IBIS model for it. The only digital pin is the VEN pin. This pin is high impedance and needs termination if it is to be driven with a fast edge. The easiest model for it would be a 50k Ohm resistor to V+.

At which site are located? (LCO, TCO, ScPk, etc)     Perhaps we can have a local Analog Apps person contact you to assist?

You can respond to me with via this forum,  or directly at d-ellis1@ti.com
