LMH5401 Errata

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH5401

Are there any errors in any of the equations in the datasheet for the LMH5401?

  • Hello George,

I don't know of any errors. Do you have any particular equations you are interested in?

    Loren

  • Hi George,

This post seems redundant. I will mark it closed, but feel to continue the dialog on your other post.

  • The calculation for Rg1 results in a resistor value of less than 1 ohm for my calculation yet when I use your spreadsheet, I get 6.5 ohms.  Maybe it's just my spreadsheet but I've checked it and don't see an error.  I've simulated using your spreadsheet's values and they also work.  I've simulated using my calculations and they don't work as well but do work to some level so I'm assuming the error is mine but I can't find it.  It really doesn't matter as long as I have confidence that it all hangs together.  My question about datasheet errors was to just make sure I wasn't wasting my time trying to figure out something using faulty equations (been there, done that...).

Do you know of any issues with biasing down the Rg2/Rf2 feedback node?  Instead of tying Rg2 to ground, I instead am biasing it below ground.  In my simulations, this works very well and results in a bipolar output (-1.5V to +1.5V) for an input of 0 to -1V (with the correct Rf value) and the amplifier seems stable for sharp step inputs (<=100pF edges).

I'm not sure if I can share my schematic publicly so for now I'm not going to (I know, it would be much easier for everyone if they could just see it).

    Regards, George
