Looking for Differential Amplifier

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH5401, DS100MB203

Hallo,

we need a differential amplifier with rise time of max. 50 ps (similar amplifier to LMH5401 but with faster rise time and higher bandwidth). Bandwidth should be min. 10 GHz.

Could you suggest an IC that meets our specification?

Thanks in advance

  • Hi Theresia,

Can you explain or provide a schematic of how are you using this amplifier? You may be able to use another type of amplifier to meet these requirements, for example if the input is single ended.

    Best regards,

    Sean
  • Hi Sean,

    thanks for your reply.

We would like to amplify the output signal from DS100MB203. Please see the attached file (Anfrage TI.ppt). I'm not so sure if we can amplify the output signal (with pre-emphasis). The problem is the output amplitude of the signal from the DS100MB203 is too low for our application. We need a differential signal with amplitude of min. 2Vpp.

    Regards,

    Theresia

  • Hi Theresia,

Since your signal is 10Gbps, you should only need 5GHz of signal bandwidth, since the highest frequency needed is the case where your data is in a 0101 sequence, which is approximately a sine wave with a frequency of 5GHz. However, LMH5401 is the fastest part we have available to support this application at this time.

    Best regards,

    Sean
