The gain error of AMC1200-Q1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1200-Q1

I would like to confirm the gain error of AMC1200-Q1.

For one IC, the gain error is fixed. Is it correct?
(ex. one IC: +/- 0.3%, another IC: +/- 0.6%, one IC does not chage
the error (ex 0.3% --> 0.6% --> 0.3% in one IC).)

  • Yamauchi-san,

I have moved your post into this forum for better support.

  • Hello Yamauchi-san,

What is known as the initial gain error at 25 deg. C stays approximately constant for a given device.

The overall gain error of the device will change with temperature because of temperature drift.

The initial gain error at 25 deg. C can potentially change over the course of the product lifetime (typically considered as 10 years). The maximum shift for a parameter such as the initial gain error at 25 deg. C is the maximum specified in the AMC1200-Q1 datasheet. In other words, a device that exhibits 0.1% initial gain error at 25 deg. C at the time of production could drift up to (but never exceed) 0.6 % in the course of ten years or it could drift down to (but never fall below) -0.4% in the course of ten years. Note also that the device could potentially not drift at all and stay at 0.1%; the specific behavior is unpredictable but the maximum boundaries are (+/-0.5% in the case of gain error for the AMC1200-Q1).

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Jose

  • Dear Jose-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I have a question.

For the temperature drift of the accuracy, does each IC have the same tendency like Figure 11 in the datasheet page 8?

  • Hello Yamauchi-san,

The flatness of the gain error vs. VDD1 is typical of most units; the specific level, however, can change from unit to unit.
