PGA309 and PT100/1000 calibration data for EEPROM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA309EVM-USB, PGA309, XTR108, XTR108EVM-USB

Hello gentlemen,

I'm trying to bring to life PGA309 Evaluation Module PGA309EVM-USB that I have just boght and I'd like to know if you (by any chance) don't have EEPROM calibration data for PT100 or PT1000 sensor (or NI100/NI1000). EEPROM is blank so I'd like to load those data to be able to start evaluating the board and move forward.

Would you be able to help?

Many thanks for any inputs.

With kind regards.

Daniel

  • Hello Daniel,

Thank you for your interest in the PGA309. Unfortunately I do not have EEPROM calibration data for either PT100 or PT1000 sensors, and in fact I do not recommend the PGA309 for calibrating these sensors.

Instead, I highly recommend the XTR108 for this purpose. It's a similar to the PGA309 in that it's a digitally-calibrated sensor signal conditioner, but it's designed specifically for RTD sensor conditioning and has different excitation, measurement, and calibration methods compared to the PGA309. Unlike the PGA309, the XTR108 supports either voltage output or current output from one IC which can reduce your total system size and cost.

We have an evaluation module for the XTR108 available as well, which I am happy to send you free of charge. The XTR108EVM-USB includes software which automatically calculates the proper configuration for a variety of platinum RTD types based on the standard Callendar-Van Dusen equation. The software also supports manual and automatic calibration using standard DMMs and GPIB interfaces.

Does this sound like an attractive option to you? If so, please contact me directly at ian@ti.com and I will get the required information to ship you the XTR108EVM-USB.
