Power consumption of Microcontroller

Hello Group,

I am looking for an single chip solution of an IC that can measure the current consumed by a microcontroller. The microcontroller can be powered at 1.8V, 3.3V and 5V. The range of current consumed would be 1uA to 100mA.

I thought of using INA139 as it simply converts the current to voltage, but this chip does not support 1.8V supply voltage. Is there any other chip that can meet my requirements?

Vineet,

With a current shunt monitor is going to be difficult to measure such small currents. Please see the current shunt monitor FAQ ( ) a few TI Designs that may work for your application, and I'm going to move your post to the precision amplifiers forum where they make Instrumentation Amps that can measure low current very accurately.
