Hy,
in the darasheet (page 20) is described how to protect the Output of the XTR300.
My question is, how much current can the internal protection diode of the ic can handle ?

Hello Christoph,
If a voltage is applied to the inputs or outputs of the XTR300 that is greater than the power supply voltages, the internal ESD protection diodes will conduct. Current should not exceed 10mA through the protection diodes. It is best if external protection elements are used to prevent the internal protection circuitry from conducting.
Take a look at http://www.ti.com/tool/TIPD155 for an example of an IEC protected two channel analog output module using the XTR300 and DAC8563.
