Hi E2E,

My customer has a circuit consisting of 2 stages of amplifiers (OPA2684 I believe) going into a CR filter, series diode, then RC filter. He gets an output of 1.4V when he runs the simulation.

He then copies and pastes the circuit and runs the copies side-by-side and gets an output of 0.7 on both. They are completely isolated (aside from supplies and reference voltages) and he has removed all net names.

Do we have any ideas as to why his output would change?

The problem was fixed by creating new supplies and voltage references. The output is now what it is supposed to be. I'm still not sure why this would matter. Thoughts?

Hi Sam,

It sounds like the two circuits shared a net that was not meant to be shared. Could you share the TINA file for us to take a look at?

The schematic is under restrictions from the customer. I can't get a hold of it.

Hi Sam,

Most simulators/IDEs will rename the nodes *it* created automatically when you copy-paste.

If they manually named a node, with the "jumper" icon or wire ID property, the simulator does not change it. So most likely, as Collin said, there was a manually named node that was copy/pasted, which created two nodes that were "invisibly" connected.

Done it many times myself...usually "Output"...
