Off amp startup behavior

Hi,

Does anyone have ideas about how to make a ultra high impedance amp get to datasheet specifications (>10 TOhm input) more quickly at power on?

I would like to communicate with a TI engineer privately in addition to any public feedback.

Nathan

  • Hi Nathan,

I'll send you a friend request that once you accept will allow us to send private messages through the forum.

During power-on/off the op amp internal biasing circuits go non-linear (saturated, cut-off, etc.) once the supply voltages are below the minimum supply voltage for the device. This leaves the device in a somewhat "open-loop" state and the output tends to track one of the two supplies in regions where the supply voltage is less than the minimum operating level. We often hear from customers that they desire a more controlled op amp output during power-up/down but haven't heard as much regarding the inputs. I'm interested to hear about what you're working on.
