[ AMC1301 ] Nonlinearity Specification

Hi,

Do you have any reference documents which describe the Nonlinearity specification of AMC1301(or similar isolated amplifier)?
We have a specification and some curves in the datasheet, however it would be great help if you can share how these are tested and measured.

Hi Kenichiro-san,

The linearity of the AMC1301 (and the AMC1100/AMC1200) is tested with an input voltage swept from -250 mV through +250mV in the case of Figure 25. In the case of Figure 26, I believe the input voltage is held at a constant DC level (may be a 10kHz sine wave) while the Vdd1 and Vdd2 are swept from 3V to 5.5V. I'll try to get more detail on that for you.

Hi Tom,

Let me ask a bit different way.
My customer has been comparing the nonlinearity specification between AMC1301 and TLP7820 from Toshiba.

From my comparison below, it seems the nonlinearity of AMC1301 is better than TLP7820, even though its condition is still wider than TLP7820. Do you agree?
The condition is not described on your datasheet, so let me know if you have different argument on my comparison.

On top of that, can I calculate the equivalent voltage value from nonlinearity value as below?

+/-250mV * 0.03% = +/-7.5mV
+/-250mV * 0.03% = +/-75uV (corrected)

Hi Ken,

Yes, the non linearity of the AMC1301 is better. For the voltage part of your question, 7.5 mV is 3% of 250 mV. We specifiy .03% MAX which is 75 uV.
