opa192: Stability using DAC in feedback loop with OPA192

Part Number: OPA192
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8811,

HI All

I can send more details and full TINA file via email. Customer has a very interesting circuit using a DAC8811 in the feedback loop with an opa192. He is using it for a pga with gain -1 to -200. I am seeing some peaking at a gain of -1, can someone take a look at this circuit. Please email me directly.

Thanks

Jeff Coletti

  • Jeff,
It's difficult to say anything about the circuit when all you say is that you see some peaking in a gain of -1. It is perfectly normal to see some gain peaking in most op amps especially in low gains since the phase margin gets lower in lower gains. In other words, to improve the stability and thus decrease the gain peaking requires increasing the close-loop gain.
