AMC1200-Q1: IC location in case of 30cm apart

Hello

I have a question about AMC1200 circuit.

Now I’m working to design current monitor circuit with AMC1200 like the below connection.

Shunt-->AMC1200-->Opamp-->MCU(ADC).

Then this shunt register and MCU(ADC) are actually located about 30cm apart.

Then the question is how to locate each ICs.

The below is the current location of each ICs.

But I’m not sure whether this is good location.

Shunt-->[20cm]-->AMC1200-->Opamp-->[10cm]-->MCU(ADC).

Could you please suggest the best location?

Regards,
Oba

  • Hi Oba,

    Is it safe to assume the shunt is not on the same PCB as the AMC1200 and the rest of the circuit? If that is the case, I would keep the AMC+OPA+MCU all close together and run a pair of twisted wires (twisted and shielded is even better) from the shunt to the AMC1200. If it's all together on one board, you could route a differential pair from the shunt to the AMC1200. Include common mode and differential mode filtering on the inputs to the AMC.
