AMC1311: Differential to Single Ended Conversion

I have an application where the customer is using the AMC1311 to pass an analog signal over an isolation barrier. The application uses a single-ended ADC and the datasheet shows an approach using an op-amp and several discrete components. The customer wants to know if there is a simplier, lower parts count way to do a differential to singled-ended conversion using only discrete components.

Hi John,

For simple, all you really need to do is use one output of the AMC1311, it would not be a differential to single ended conversion of the AMC1311, but it is simpler with lower parts count. What sort of ADC are they driving into here?

Hi Tom,

I checked with the customer. The ADC will most likely be a DSP peripheral although he's not sure, yet. Would the VOUTP be connected to the ADC input (perhaps with a small RC filter) and leave VOUTN floating?

Hi John,

Yep! You could leave VOUTn float or tied it to GND via 10K ohm resistor.
