Hi All, The TAS5630 has quite noisy output. Doing an active monitor speaker is nearly not possible to drive the tweeter directly from TAS5630 - in quiet environment the noise from the tweeter is audible even in 1,5m-2m distance... Is any chance to decrease the TAS5630 output voltage noise level??? Would...

There is not a problem with the TAS5630 signal source... My configuration is: Input Stage -> Dig. Attenuator -> Buf -> SigmaDSP -> Buf -> TAS5630 The whole audio path is balanced. Having my TAS5630 disconnected from the SigmaDSP with shorted input I can measure around 250µV-255µV...

Hi Guys, I have significant output noise issue with TAS5631PHD2EVM. First of all I modified the TAS5518 register 0x04 with the value 0x60 to have the TAS5518 automatic mute function disabled. With this configuration I measured what is on TAS5631PHD2EVM output with no input signal and I am really shocked...

Hi Steve, You are right - there is a lot of noise outside of the audio band in the signal I measured... but I can measure them on the output of EVB - after the filter... I do the measurements with FLUKE scopemeter without the bandwidth limitation. I performed similar measurements on my TAS5630 module...

I guess the high frequency you can see on the second scope screenshot comes probably from the main modulating switching frequency - around 350kHz? could it be so?

Don, Thanks for your replay. The amplifier module design is almost released, therefore I can not change the topology now to use TAS5631 with additional modulator chip. BTW - I measured something really surprising I do not understand with TAS5631 (TAS5631PHD2EVM) - could you be so kind and take a look...

Don, Yes - the measurement is done across the outputs having 4 Ohm resistive load connected. I measured with my FLUKE scopemeter 199C with differential / galvanic isolated inputs and 1:1 high impedance probe. The EVM was only connected to regulated power supply and the original input board. I used TOSLINK...

I designed TPA3123D2 amp board. But TPA3123D2 can't control volume. And there is lm3s8962 on my board. Power source is 24DCV, and speaker's impedence is 4ohm. I was using my mp3 for testing. But it doesn't work well. Speaker's volume is very very small.(I tried with maximum mp3...

Hi Steve, Thanks for your replay. I checked TAS5613A and TAS5611A specs and I've chosen the TAS5613A - I like the low overal voltage gain of the amplifier. However the whole PurePathHD is damn noisy ... I really like the chips, but with residual noise over 100µV they have 'no go' to...

Steve, Could you tell me what is the root cause of the residual output noise for the TAS5630/15/13/11 PurePathHD amplifier family? It looks for me like a analog input stage is casing the noise and it is overall amplifier gain depend...is it a technology limitation? It would be really perfect to have...

Don, Like the last time, the measurement is taken across the outputs with FLUKE scopemeter 199C with differential / galvanic isolated inputs and original 10:1 FLUKE probe. Don, I took a look also on the PWM signal before the output filter and I can see, that also with really low audio signal, or even with pure zeros send over TOSLINK, the edges of the PWM signal are really jittered - this is what I can see after the output signal as the voltage noise. Look how does...

Steve, OK, thanks for your replay. It would be nice if you check the issue on other EVM. There is no need now to replace my EVM even if there is something wrong with it - the board is not so complex, in worst case I could repair it myself (if it is really broken). Next week and the week after I am...

Hi Steve, Thanks a lot for your replay. At first, your scope screen shot is slightly different to what I measured and it is also one of very interesting behavior I observed. I guess you made your measurement using resistive dummy load instead of the speaker. If you would load the amplifier output with...

I also tried to look directly on the PWM signal and it shows huge jitter. Look on the scope measurements I made directly on the TAS5631 outputs: It would be interesting to made an FFT analyze of the jitter to see what is going on there. I guess the jitter shows this same high frequency signal I...

Dear all, I am designing an amplifier with a TAS5630, intended to drive horn speakers. The speakers' compression drive units have an impedance of 6 ohms at lower frequencies. The amplifier is set in stereo BTL mode, with 2 speakers on each output, which results in 3-ohms loads. For the...
