TPS65320 Unused LDO Terminal

Hello,

Please answer following question when LDO is not used.

Q1:

Customer is not using LDO_OUT and treating unused terminals as follows.

  EN2: Pull-down

  LDO_OUT: Open

  FB2: Open

Please advise above treatment has no problem or any problem.

 

Q2:

If above treatment has problem, please recommend how to treat each terminal.

    EN2: pull down is OK

    LOD_OUT: open is OK

    FB2: high impedance pull down is OK. Do not leave it open

    Thank you for your answer.

    Please kindly answer additional questions.

     

    1)    Could you please advise the risk when FB2 is open?

    2)    Could you explain the reason why you recommend high impedance pull down for FB2 terminal?

            In case of FB2 is pulled down and EN2 terminal is shorted to high level signal (for example Battery) accidentally, LDO_OUT my goes to VIN or VIN_LDO and it may exceed absolute maximum rating of LDO_OUT(7V).

    3)    What is the recommendation for VIN_LDO terminal?

            Can I left open or should connect to DC/DC output?

    1) Answer: the FB2 pin is high impedance and should be terminated short to GND for example

    2) Answer: I did not recommend high impedance pull down. This pin is a high ipmedance.

    3) Connect the VIN-LDO to BUCK output
