TPS7B4250-Q1 pin to pin short

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7B4250-Q1

I would like to confirm the measures to pin to pin short for TPS7B4250-Q1.
The customer is afraid the voltage supply and GND are shorted by the short 2pin and 3pin.

1. In the case that we add the resister between 3pin(VIN) and the battery, are there
   any problems?

2. Is 2pin connected to 5pin in the IC?
If 2pin and 5pin are connected in the IC and 2pin is opened, are there any problems?

Best regards,
Atsushi Yamauchi

  • Atsushi,

I've contacted the group responsible for this device and they will get back to you in a few days.

  • Hi Atsushi-san,

There is no problem to connect a resistor between bat and VIN of TPS7B4250, but that will influence the performance of the LDO, as when this is current flow throught the tracker, there would be voltage drop on the resistor. One more thing need to be cared is that when Vin<Vadj+0.5V, the output voltage of the tracker will be 0.

Pin 2 floating is OK for the application. Just make sure Pin 5 is connect to GND.

    Best regards
