TPS92630-Q1 / 2 string output

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92630-Q1
Hello,

Our customer would like to use TPS92630-Q1 as two strings 120mA/ch.
Thus, we connect the IOUT3 to VSNS1.
As a result, IOUT1 is 240mA and IOUT2 is 120mA.

Could you please let me know the correct connection for two strings operation by 120mA/ch?

Best Regards,
Ryuji Asaka
  • Ryuji-san,

I am not sure about you schematic, it seems a little strange to connect IOUT3 to VSNS1.

Usually if we only want to use the two channels of the TPS92630 (say IOUT1 & IOUT2), it is recommended to put the PWM3 into a low level, connect the IOUT3 ,VSNS3 and GND together. You can do this easily on our EVM.

  • Hello Anda san,

Thank you for the prompt reply.
Accorcding to terminal functions in the datasheet p.4,  IOUT3 is connect to VSNS1 when not used.
    Is this comment wrong ?

  • Ryuji-san,

This is a typo which has been corrected and the datasheet should be updated recently. Usually Iout1 corresponds to  VSNS1, IOUT2 corresponds to VSNS2, IOUT3 corresponds to VSNS3.

    Best regards
