The capacitor of connecting to A1 and A2 of LMP8278Q

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP8278

I would like to confirm the capacitor of LMP8278Q.

In the datasheet page 15 (Figure 27), there is the capacitor of C1.

I have questions of it.

1. What is the reason of the connection of C1?
2. How much is the recommended value of C1? How do we calculate it?

Best regards,
Atsushi Yamauchi

  • Yamauchi-san,

I have contacted the group responsible for this device. They should respond within a few days.

  • Hello,

The capacitor C1 connected to pins A1 and A2 can optionally be placed to create a low-pass RC filter, where R is the internal 100k resistor shown in the same figure.

For applications where the bandwidth of interest is lower than the bandwidth of operation of the LMP8278, it's common to have this additional filtering.

To calculate the value of the capacitor, use the relationship: fc = 1/(2*pi*R*C)

Where fc is the desired cutoff frequency.

    Best regards,

    Sergio
