AEC-Q100 Qualified Products and Q1 Suffix

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA193A-Q1

What exactly does the Q1 suffix on a part number mean?

That is AEC-Q100 qualified or that it only meets some TI internal automotive qualification?

The reason I'm asking is that I need to be sure that the parts I hope to use are AEC-Q100 qualified.

On some parts the datasheet clearly states this information (i.e.AEC-Q100 Qualified With the Following Results -).

But for a part like the INA193AQDBVRQ1, the datasheet only states "Qualified for Automotive Applications" but doesn't reference any qualification standard.

This is the only qualification statement on the datasheets for a number of parts that are under consideration.

Is there a master list that identifies TI parts that have been AEC-Q100 qualified?

Thank you,

  • Tony,
TI's Q1 products are Qualified in Accordance with AEC-Q100, and our "Quality 1st" portfolio continues to grow as it provides a solution for applications that do not require change control or qualifications beyond Q100.

The wording of our datasheets varies as new or popular devices will have their datasheets revised to expand upon certain details (such as results to further support AEC-Q100 aspects), while an older part's datasheet may only state "Qualified for Automotive Applications". Thus, the INA193A-Q1 is still AEC-Q100 qualified, as are all other Q1 devices.

There is no master list available to the public, but you can use the parametric search when browsing for products to filter "Automotive" rated products.
  • Is there any other documentation, like perhaps an app note or a white paper, that states this? Referencing an E2E forum post when reviewing a design for Q100 compliance isn't the best practice. If there isn't a master list of Q100 parts or there isn't an explicit statements of Q100/Q200 compliance in the datasheet there needs to be something else.

  • William,

The best location for seeing all these Q100 devices is in the Automotive Solutions Guide: www.ti.com/lit/sl/ssay001/ssay001.pdf  .
