The peak of output for TPS7A6650-Q1

I would like to confirm the waveform for TPS7A6650-Q1.

I attached wavefomrs of input and output.

In this case, there was the peak of output voltage just after input added. What is the cause of the peak?

I attached the circuit (condition; VIN = 12V).

Could you please teach the cause and the solution of avoiding the peak?

Best regards,

Atsushi Yamauchi

  • Hi Yamauchi-san,

This waveform is strange, as there is an internal soft start circuit, which could help prevent output voltage from overshoot and ramp up smoothly.

Circuit you showed is no problem, but it is only part of customer's circuit, and I doubt there is other circuit(s) which have interference to the output voltage of this device. Can you please tell more information about the load? Is there any other device also power up the load and disturb TPS7A6650-Q1? Is it possible disconnect the TPS7A6650-Q1 circuit from other part and test it again?

Below is the waveform from our board with same setup as yours, the load is 125mA. It's clean and no any glitch.

    Best regards,
