Hello, all

Now we have one inquiry regarding Slope Compensation Detail on UCC28220-Q1 from our customer.

Please refer to the item below, and feedback us with your comment.

When referring "Figure 3. Slope Compensation Detail for Channel 1 (Duplicate Matched Circuitry for Channel 2)" on page 11 of UCC28220-Q1 datasheet (SLUS789), the equation of current source is defined as 2.5/(25*R_SLOPE) = I_SC.

Meanwhile, when referring "Figure 4. Slope Compensation Detail for Channel 1. Duplicate Matched Circuitry Exists for Channel 2." on page 13 of UCC28220 datasheet (SLUS544E), this term is defined as 2.5/(16.6*R_SLOPE)=I_SC.

Please let us clarify which definition is correct.

Okui-san,

I think we closed this through e-mail, but I want to follow up on this thread as well.
Please use "I_SC = 2.5/(25*R_SLOPE)", as we have confirmed this to be correct on the automotive device UCC28220-Q1.

My big customer asked me about the tolerance of 0.5V, in spec sheet page 11 Figure 3.

Hello Doi-san,

We don't have any data on the parameter. I'm checking with our design team to see what information we have about the 0.5V tolerance.

Hello Doi-san,

Across temperature and process, the variation of the 0.5V is +/- 20%, meaning 0.4V to 0.6V.

Wallinger-san,

Thank you. But my customer give up too much tolerance of slope compensation.
He will do the compensation outside IC. And he asked me another question.
Is it no problem "Slope terminal #5 --> Open ( no resistor )" ?
