How I can calculate regulator heating depends on I out .

I have decided to use regulator that is TPS73733-Q1 for my TIVA microcontrollers. How I can calculate regulator heat depends on I out ?  Which currents and heats are  danger for my device. I don't want to  use heatsink for device.  My I out range is 200mA - 500mA.

  • Ethem,

  • Hi Ethem,

    Can you please inform me the input voltage range and the ambient temperature of your working condition?

    Usually we can estimate the device junction temperature with the equation: Tj = Ta + thetaJA*PD.
    Where,
    PD = (VIN-VOUT)*IOUT
    Ta= ambient air temperature
    Thermal resistance thetaJA was provide in page 2, Dissipation Ratings.

    Best regards,
