Transient response of TLV62065-Q1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV62065, TPS62065

Hello Team

My customer evaluate TLV62065 for DDR3 power supply.

they measured near 40mV transient at referense LC in 1P of datasheet.

They confirmed that It could satisfy target of load transient  when changing L=0.47uH or C=100uH.

These values seems not recommended in data sheet and Webench(TPS62065) , will it have a problem to use with these values?

【Condition】

・Vin 5V

・Vout 1.35V

・Iout 0.1A→0.8A

・PWM mode

・Target within 30mV transient

  • Hi Nagasawa-san,

Please refer to the below link which explains how to choose the external components for TPS6206x devices.

    http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva441/slva441.pdf

Though the device is internally optimized for 1uH inductor and 10uF capacitor, using external feedforward capacitor, these values can be adjusted based on the application. This document clearly explains this and gives out inductor, capacitor and feedforward capacitor values for stable design.

Care must be taken to keep the device current within its limit (2.3A) while selecting the components.

So, I would recommmed the customer to go through this document and make calculations based on their requirement and if they have some questions, please let me know.

    Regards,

    Murthy
