TLC6C598-Q1 Thermal Shutdown Protection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC6C598-Q1

Dear, Sir.

My customer is asking related to Thermal Shutdown Protection(TSD) function of

TLC6C598-Q1 as below. Please give your advice because it is not sure

on the datasheet.

1. Once TSD is activated, All channel output become open state(OFF).

    Is it correct?

2. Thermal detection block inside of TLC5C598-Q1 is just one area to detect

    silicon temperature.

  a) Is it correct?

  b) Is the block a type of thermistor or temp sensor?

3. When TSD is activated, Internal Logic will be still working.

   Is it correct?

4. Once junction temp decreased, TLC6C598-Q1 begins to operate again.

I wonder shift resister value will keep before TSD occurrence or all cleared?

5. Customer connect the external R & LED between Battery and Drain of

  TLC6C598-Q1. Battery = 6V ~ 40V, Vcc = 3V ~ 5.5V.

If the drain immediately connect to Battery, then internal FET was ON, TSD will

be activated due to huge power dissipation calculating by Vbattery/ Ron.

  I wonder it is correct?

Best Regards,

H. Sakai
