I have a resistive load of 0.5~1 ohm and supplying voltage of 9~20V. I’m looking for a high side load switch with current limiting (clamping) capability around 3.5A.
If a standard load switch was used, without a current limiting resistor, the load current could reach up to 40A (20V/0.5) and cause an overload shutdown or burn out. Instead, our requirement is to maintain the supplying current at 3.5A continuously, in which works like a current regulator.
We don’t have the space or power to fit a large current limiting resistor and the supplying voltage is not regulated.
Your product line of TPS1H100AQPWPRQ1 seems to be a good fit, but just want to confirm with you that it functions as I think. We don’t need the feedback functions. Is there any other similar parts you would recommend?
