Automotive about PGA450 Q1 EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA450-Q1, PGA450Q1EVM

Hi Sir,

I have some questions about PGA450 Q1 EVM.

1.What does PGA450 Q1 do?How does  it works between ultrasonic sensors and CPU?

2.Our customers are planning to install ultrasonic sensor on car for the automatic parking system. So they are thinking about the PGA450 Q1 EVM board. But they want to know that which sensor is mounted on the available EVM board and what is its range? Apart from that if we replace that already mounted sensor with some other sensor of higher distance range then would that same board work efficiently with the same GUI?

  • Mickey,

    1. The PGA450-Q1 is an ultrasonic signal conditioner that converts the analog output of an ultrasonic transducer to a digital signal for post-processing by its internal 8051 MCU or external MCU to detect objects and measure distances.

    2. For Park Assist applications, we are promoting and include the Murata MA58MF14-7N transducer sensor and Toko-Murata FSDVA (N1342DEA-0008BQE=P3) transformer on the PGA450Q1EVM. Alternatives/substitutes are listed in the EVM's User's Guide. This combination is able to detect the ISO-standard pole up to 6m reliably. Any transducer can be used with the PGA450-Q1, as long as its operating frequency is between 40 to 70kHz. What transducer is your customer considering?
  • Thank you! The customer does not use any transducer now. He is looking for some sensors to meet his requirement.
