PGA450Q1EVM GUI 1.50.1 using Excel 2013 COM Issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA450Q1EVM

I am having a export to Excel problem with PGA450Q1EVM GUI 1.50.1 using Excel 2013, I have sourced the issue to the multiple versions of Office I have installed on my PC. This is necessary for different business applications, I was wondering if you could provide a export to .txt function in upcoming versions. Thank You.

  • Hello Andrew,

We will take note of adding an "Export to .txt" feature instead of Excel only for a future version of the GUI.

I noticed you also posted to the topic "Question concerning the feature of "Export Data to excel" ("e2e.ti.com/.../1868520

As noted on that post, we have noticed issues with the regional settings of the PC impacting GUI performance in the past. Try changing the regional settings to "United States of America" to determine whether this change makes a difference in the Export Data to Excel feature. Does this make any difference?

Are you able to test the feature on a different PC or different version of Windows? Could you share the specifications of your PC and OS? I have not been able to replicate the issue on my PC.

  • It works on other systems in the office that do not have the older versions of Office installed and the error message corresponds to a library linking error in the registry. According to Microsoft support documentation this error is known to happen when installing new versions of Office. The issue was resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling office, I unfortunately do not have this option. I have Office 13, 14 and 15 installed on Windows 7. With excel running on Office 14.

  • Andrew,

We will try to resolve this issue. Meanwhile, a workaround to clicking the “Read and Save FIFO Data to File” button is to:

    1. Click “READ ALL” at the bottom of the screen

    2. Click “SAVE GRID” and select a file location.

    3. The .txt file saved is a comma separated file where the first data in a row is the address (or sample number) and the second is the actual data.

You can use the .txt data file to plot in Excel.
