LED and Photodiode for AFE4490

Hello,

I was wondering if you have tested any particular LEDs or Photodiodes for use with the AFE4490. If so, can you tell me the part numbers?

I'm particularly interested to know how bright the RED LED needs to be. I'm assuming anything that is "diffused" will not work.
