AFE4490 Digital Sample Value Units

Hi Everyone,

A quick question:
What are the units of measurement for the digital values in the data registers (LED1VAL, LED2VAL, ALED1VAL, etc....)? Are they micro-volts?

Hello Mohammad,

The digital values in the data registers are ADC codes in two's complement format.

The ADC codes to volts conversion formula is shown below:

ADC data (volts) = (ADC codes in two's complement format * Vref ) / 2^21

where Vref = 1.2V

Thanks Praveen. Is the value for Vref always 1.2V or is it a configurable parameter in the AFE?

Vref is not configurable and is fixed to 1.2V
