    Iehcncent,

    This waveform was taken on one particular subject. There are numerous variables that contribute to the PPG signal. A few things you want to make sure is reduce as much ambient light as possible and keep as constant pressure as possible from the sensor to the skin. As far as the AFE settings go, you can adjust things such as the TIA gain stage, LED current, etc. in order to get the best signal possible. You can start with the LED current and get to a point where you are not saturating and can see a signal. Then adjust other knobs as needed. The datasheet and User's guide will be very helpful to understand the signal chain. Those found on our product folder. http://www.ti.com/product/afe4403
