I am having the 4404 evaluation board. I need to interface this evaluation board with the 3rd party MCU. The purpose of this interfacing is to capture the value of HR and SPO2 send it to MCU for further processing. Request you to give schematic for interfacing the 4404 with any 3rd party MCU

Refer to page 70 of the User's Guide for the schematics. You can remove the resistors that connect the AFE to the MCU.

Can you confirm that above statement refers to removal of R7 and R8 or not ?

if the answer to the above question is yes, is it not possible to take the I2C SDA and SCL lines for the pins of the cables that is connected between AFE and MCU? (I understand that R7 and R8 will be in series in each of the line) however if it is possible doing so, we can avoid removal of the resistors

Hi Amy,

As per your advice we tried removing the resistors between the AFE and MCU. However the pads of the resistors are extremely small and it is practically not possible to connect any sort of cables or pins so as to interface the 3rd party MCU. From this point I only see one possibility which is to make the AFE board separately with proper connectors so that it is possible to reliably connect the MCU. For the purpose can you send me the layout project file. This will help me in isolating the AFE related circuit and add the interface connector while maintaining the performance

Hi Amy,

Our customer already has a working wearable device which tracks an individual on GPS. The said device is being sold successfully in good quantity. He uses Mediatek make 2502 SOC for the purpose. We have been appointed to augment the device's functionality by adding the heart rate monitoring feature on the existing product.
Going by customer's projection we are going to need to ship around 10,000 units per year.

WRT schedule, we are required to hand over the project to the customer along with gerbers and working model by 15th Feb.
