UC2625-EP: High currrent draw when OV-COAST pin

Part Number: UC2625-EP

Hi, we're having problems with shutting the device down, when we assert the OV-COAST pin (pulling it down to GND with a MOSFET), the device draws around 100mA and gets pretty hot, which is unexpected behaviour. Is this a known problem or an issue with our design?

The desgn is set up mostly as per the example circuit in the datasheet. with the exception that we have implemented closed loop current control using the onboard error amplifier and ISENSE ouput of the device. it is set to drive at 600mA, 2 Quadrant. Apart from the shutdown the device works as expected. It shows this behaviour across multiple devices.

Are there other ways of prevening the device from switching on any of the bridge transistors? we want to be able to hold the motor in one position using external circuitry, so its important that we are able to disable the device.

Thanks!
