TLK2711-SP: Power on Sequence when they use it in transmit only mode

Part Number: TLK2711-SP

Hello,

My customer has a question about TLK2711-SP.

[Q]

Please tell me the power on sequence when they use it in transmit only mode.

Is my understanding correct ?

<My understanding>

  1. TLK2711-SP generates a power-on reset under the following conditions.
    • when it exceed the minimum valid voltage (2.375V)
    • valid TXCLK
    • ENABLE is High by the following one of ways
    • It is driven to high by external driver
    • It is high by internal pull-up when It is driven with High-Z by external driver
  2. LCKREFN is High by the following one of ways
    • It is driven to high by external driver
    • It is high by internal pull-up when It is driven with High-Z by external driver
  3. LOOPEN is High by the following way
    • It is driven to high by external driver
  4. Wait for at least 1ms until internal power-on reset comple
  5. Changes in Transmit only mode by reset the receiver
  • LCKREFN is driven to Low by external driver

  • Hiroshi,
1), 2) your interpretation is correct.
    3) LOOPEN can be asserted by external driver, or if data is available on RXP/N then that is also sufficient. Since this is transmit only application asserting LOOPEN is best solution.
    4) the above conditions need to be true for minimum of 1ms before de asserting LOOPEN and LCKREFN.
    5) I am not sure what you are asking here. Transmit only mode will occur when LCKREFN is de asserted.

  • Hi Wade,

    Thank you for your response.
    OK, I understood your comments.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
