DAC5675A-SP: Maximum Power Dissipation Rating?

Part Number: DAC5675A-SP

Hello,

We have a customer who brought this to our attention:
On the DAC5675A-SP (5962-0720401VXC), when using the maximum supply currents (148mA for Analog, 130mA for Digital), multiplied by supply voltage of 3.3V, the calculated power exceeds the datasheet rating.

.278mA x 3.3V = .927mW

Datasheet lists max Pd at 900mW.

Could someone please advise what the maximum ratings for the supply current, and Power Dissipation should be?

Thank you,

  • Hi Gabe,

All three specifications apply. For a device to be tested as good, all 3 specifications must be met: max analog current, max digital current, and total power dissipated. So it is conceivable, although very unlikely, that a device meets both the current specs but is failed because the maximum power spec is violated.

    Thanks
    Christian
