CD54HC4316: CD54HC4316

Part Number: CD54HC4316

I'm using CD54HC4316 as video analog switch.

I've two grounds.

1)- Digital ground.

2)- Analog Ground.

There are four analog inputs which are to be controlled by the microcontroller which is using digital ground. However, the video sources are with respect to Analog ground. Please confirm should the pins 8 (GND) is  to be connected with the digital ground or analog ground? I think we need to connect with Digital ground and we don't need any connection with the analog ground.

Regards;

  • Hi,

    I agree with your assessment that pin 8 should be connected to digital ground since VCC-GND establishes the levels for the digital inputs Sx and E as stated on page 1 of the datasheet.

    "The digital inputs can swing between VCC and GND"

    Thanks
