TLK2711-SP: Used for transmission only

Part Number: TLK2711-SP

Hi,

I am only using TLK2711-SP for transmission only.

Is there any way to disable the receiver?

will the Max power dissipation (550mW stated in datasheet) be reduced if only transmitter is used?

Thank you.

  • KGY,
I do not have data indicating the reduction in current when operating in transmit only mode. Asserting LCKREFN essentially changes the PLL clock recovery path from RX to the TX clock internally. I don't believe the reduction would be significant, as most of the design is still powered and active when RX is disabled. I would estimate possibly a 10% reduction in current on VDD.
