ADS5463-EP: ADS5463-EP vs ADS5463 question for TI support

Part Number: ADS5463-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5463

Hello,

We have some old ADC Modules, designed and built with ADS54RF63IPFP, that worked well over the years.

Now we plan to make more of the same, and we're thinking to use ADS5463MPFPEP.

Is there any possible issue in replacing an ADS5463 with an ADS5463-EP?

Looking at the two data sheets, the differences are minor.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Mircea

  • Hi,

The difference between the two devices is that the -EP is characterized with guaranteed specs up to 125C while the non -EP device is guaranteed only up to 85C. Therefore, you will notice some of the specifications are de-rated to cover the extended temperature operating range for the -EP device. The devices should behave exactly the same in environments under 85C. If temperatures above 85C are needed then the -EP version should be used.

    Thanks
